Our Experiences

FIREFIGHTER FOR A DAY

Early Learning Centres (ELC)

Our cutest experience by far! 3 to 5 year old children experience an age appropriate obstacle course while wearing uniforms and learning how to use Firefighter equipment. During the activities, they will learn about life as a Firefighter and ask questions to satisfy their minds.

All the activities are designed around the Firefighter’s ethos of teamwork, mateship and camaraderie. Being kind, helpful, inclusive and never leaving your friends behind.

Holiday Programs Incursions

Suitable to 5 to 12 year olds, our holiday program incursions are fun, interactive and unique. Heat Kids create a visually appealing Firefighter course and children will have to work together, communicate and navigate their way to their end goal.

We supply all the equipment you need, bump in, bump out and leave the grounds as we found it. We always welcome program co-ordinators to jump in with us to make for an unforgettable day the kids will not forget anytime soon!

Team Building & Events

Our team has personally experienced the team ethic, mateship and trust required in special tactical response situations.
So what do Firefighters know about team building?
Well, we depend on our leadership and team work in situations most of you will hopefully never be faced with.

Without placing you in harms way, Heat team building experiences put you in situations where you will depend on each other to meet your goals. Competitive? Yes it does get this way with a lot of banter (sometimes!)

Our Activities

We absolutely do not put anyone in harm’s way but we can simulate dangerous situations. To ‘get out of trouble’, children and adults will require leadership skills, effective communication skills, a degree of movement, teamwork all while remaining cool, calm and collected.

Testimonials

“What an exciting way for children to learn about a real world occupation. The children were immersed in the world of being a firefighter, complete with drills, first aid for dollies, emergency stretchers (child sized) and oxygen tanks with firefighting gear (all child sized!). There were many favourite parts of the course, but the one which left a lasting impression was the heavy firefighter hoses. Long after the incursion
finished, the children could be heard saying; “turn on, turn off.”

Karin

Educator, Early Learning Centre

“I was so incredibly pleased with this incursion. Our Elwood Kids LOVED it and they were engaged for the entire incursion which is a great credit to Jason and his business, HEAT Kids. From the moment he arrived, the other staff members and myself just knew that he would be fantastic, not only with the kids, but also with other staff members due to his professionalism and great personality.
Everything ran so smoothly and the positive feedback from the kids was endless. A big THANK YOU to Jason!”

Brooke

Co-ordinator, Team Kids

“We were very impressed with the cleverly made equipment that you had, such as the back pack breathing tanks and the large puzzle tilting board. Every activity contributed to the students’ knowledge about the role of the firefighter in the community and the need for safety in dangerous situations. Your great sense of humour and ability to connect with the children through familiar concepts, made an impact on the overall success of the incursion. We will certainly note this down as a yearly repeat experience.”

FAQs

What is the program based on?

All our activities are designed around the Firefighter’s ethos of teamwork, camaraderie and hard work. Being kind, helpful, inclusive and never leaving your mates behind.

WHAT AGE GROUPS ARE YOUR PROGRAMS DESIGNED FOR?

All activities are tailored to the age group we are catering for on the day. Everyone participates.

We find participants have to be at least 3 to get the most out of the experiences – remember we run incursions for ELC so we are well versed with the younger age group.

Yes, we ramp it up for the older kids / adults too!

HOW LONG DOES A PROGRAM RUN FOR?

It all depends on the experience. Usually an incursion will run for 2 hours and run either in the morning or afternoon and we also offer a 4 hour option.  During holiday programs, we tailor the activities to suit one hour slot, same with birthdays!

We can tailor pretty much anything for your school, holiday camp or corporate day. Just give us a call and we can chat about the options… there’s not much we can’t do!

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU NEED TO BOOK?

The earlier the better. Usually by the start of any given month, we are booked out for that month but we try and make it work for everyone. We don’t have a quiet month, if you book in Winter, we move indoors.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

Other than our incredible sense of humour, we bring everything you need! Our mission is to create an experience the children will remember for a very long time. Our set up is extensive (it usually takes us an hour to set up for a 2 hour session) and we supply all the equipment, bump in ontime, and bump out when we are done, leaving the grounds as we found it.

DO YOU DO BIRTHDAY PARTIES?

Hell yes we do! We love Birthday parties and of all ages too! Check our Firefighter Birthday party page to see what we provide and contact us to book your date early – weekends fill up very fast.

Are your experiences suited to adults?

When we began Heat, we designed challenging Firefighter experiences for corporate team building days – so YES, they absolutely are. Check our Team Building page for what an “Adult” Firefighter day would look like for you. Again, we do tailor experiences and our activities cater for all fitness levels.
